Twitter Tips: How to use Twitter effectively!

Twitter has played an important role in connecting with people with just one question….

Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected. Making new virtual friends has never been so easy.  Just imagine your tweet is seen around the world. People follow you just to know what you are up to.  A few months ago, I told my followers I was going to  visit my family in Puerto Rico and want to connect with fellow Twittericans (Puerto Rican twitters) to my amazement they replied back and we set-up a date.  It was a fantastic meeting Twittericans in person.  Twitter is also considered microblogging in just 140 characters.

Twitter has a 140 characters limit and to get the most out of your message is important.
Try these acronyms for a short yet sweet tweet:

RT: means Retweet, someone repeating your tweet or you want someone to repeat your tweet

PRT: means Please Retweet

DM: means Direct Message, Twitter has a tab where followers can send you a private message

@: Reply to, for example: @CoquiTheChef did you post a new recipe today in your blog?

LMK: Let me know

TMB: Tweet Me Back
